September Favorites

Updated: Nov 14, 2018

Wow... September flew by. This month has been filled with so many beauty and fashion favorites, and I can't wait to share them all with you.

The Rivington Ripped Straight Leg Jeans in Jackpot by BlankNYC

FIRST AND FOREMOST.... can we talk about my newly-discovered love for BlankNYC jeans?!? Their jeans have quickly become my favorite jeans of all time. They're so comfortable and such good quality. I bought two pairs of boyfriend jeans from them (here and here) when they were on sale. Can you believe the boyfriend jean trend has been around for years and I am just now finding a pair that I like?! Finding a good pair of boyfriend jeans is hard for me because I'm short and petite and most boyfriend jeans look extremely unflattering on me. These ones are perfect because they're in the boyfriend cut/style, but aren't actually all that baggy.

I know BlankNYC jeans can be pretty pricey, but if you catch them on sale (which they frequently are), then I believe it's a pretty good deal, considering that they're a high-end, good quality brand. I feel like you're getting a premium pair of jeans without spending anywhere between $150-$300 (which is how much other high-end brands are). Plus, I feel like even lower-end brands have been upping the price of their jeans! Now, you're lucky to find a pair for $30. (Note: These jeans are currently out of stock, but I've seen them restock!)

My next favorite is a pair of sunglasses from BP. These sunglasses are so chic and stylish. They're such good quality that you could never tell that they were so affordable (Only $14!). They give me oversized sunglasses vibes without being TOO oversized, and they're in such a flattering, versatile shape that is chic enough for fancier outfits but also wearable for everyday. I got them in the colors Black and Tort, and I highly recommend both especially since they're so affordable.

My last fashion favorite is a romper from Urban Outfitters. This is one of the more unique dresses I've seen, at least from a more affordable brand, which is why it caught my eye. It totally gives me old school mom vibes. I feel like this is something Rachel Green from Friends would wear, or perhaps something my mom would've dressed me in as a 6 year old. I think the denim is super flattering and I love how the knot detail cinches my waist. I got it on sale for 30% off, but I honestly would've paid full price for it! It is a bit pricey and I never usually buy anything full-price, but this is a very high quality dress that I know I'm going to get a lot of good uses out of.

Of course, I had to talk about my beauty favorites because I recently made a huge haul at Sephora for their VIB sale. (Click here for my Sephora VIB sale haul/recommendations.)

My first favorite is the Becca Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder. YOU GUYS... This product is wild. It's unlike anything I've ever tried before. When you put it on, it literally feels like you're splashing cold water on your face. There's a cooling sensation and it feels so good. I love it just for the experience alone. You have to try it!!

The fact that there's a cooling sensation also just gives me a good sign that this powder truly does what it claims to do: hydrate. As a person with dry skin, powder is a makeup item that scares me and that I shy away from. In fact, I never even owned/used a powder up until a few months ago! For that reason, I look for a powder that's going to set and extend my make up without mattifying or drying out my skin. I find that this product does that. This powder also blurs and smooths out my skin.

My second favorite is also a powder, the Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder. This powder blurs, smooths, and brightens my skin, and for that reason I love using it especially for the under eyes. This has been a highly raved about product in the beauty community, and for good reason.

My next favorites are the Natasha Denona Crystal Top Coat and Hourglass Scattered Light Glitter Eyeshadow. I REALLY did not want to love these products as much as I do because they are so expensive!! (Does anyone ever buy products hoping you don't like them so that you won't have to kill your wallet buying it?? Is that weird?) Sadly, I do indeed love these products. I love products like these because they're so versatile. You can lightly scatter them on your lids to give your eyes an all-over, effortless shimmer or you can really pack on the glitter to take your eyeshadow to the next level. You can make them more subtle or more intense, which makes them perfect for daytime and night-time. I highly recommend.

My next favorite is an oldie but a goldie, the Ardell Demi Wispies. I've used these lashes before, but I recently rediscovered them and I don't remember them being this good. Are these the same pair that come in the single pairs? They are so pretty and easy to put on. They're also so comfortable that I didn't feel the need to take them off immediately once I got home and I actually left them on. Plus, they come in a pack of 5 for less than $8! You can't beat that price anywhere. I hope they never discontinue these!

Lastly, I wanted to give a huge shoutout to the Jouer Powder Highlight in Citrine. This highlight is absolutely stunning. It is a blinding champagne color, and I think it may replace my holy grail Becca highlight in Moonstone. It is also slightly cheaper than other high-end highlights at $24, so I definitely think it's worth the money.

Let me know if you try any of these items!
