Hello, loves! Today I wanted to share with you my favorite items from the drugstore. These are items that I cannot live without, so I'm extra excited that they're all so affordable!
My first essential is the Wet Brush. I used to use any brush that I had lying around, but when I dyed my hair a few years ago and damaged it beyond repair, I found that I could no longer use just any brush to brush my tangled, damaged hair. The Wet Brush solved all of my problems! It glides through my hair regardless of how tangled it is. It's important to be gentle when brushing your hair so that you don't damage it, especially when it's wet, so finding a good brush that could brush through my tangles with ease was very important to me. The Wet Brush comes in many different sizes, colors, and versions depending on your hair type.
My next favorite is this portable mirror from Conair. If you're traveling any time soon, you NEED to get this mirror. It is so tiny yet functional. The stand allows you to prop up the mirror anywhere, and the soft-touch rubber protects the mirror making it very durable. Affordable, durable, portable, functional, tiny, good quality.. what's not to love?! They also have the rectangular version of this mirror.
My next favorite are these sticky silicone nipple covers from Hollywood Fashion Secrets. I basically stopped wearing bras almost two years ago, and it's been one of the best decisions I've ever made (ok maybe I'm exaggerating). Since then, these nipple covers have been a godsend. They feel like nothing (I always forget that I'm wearing them), and they actually surprisingly add a little bit of shape! I've used other nipple covers, but these ones are so easy to use (especially compared to larger ones or ones that hook up in the middle) and affordable. They're better than the throw-away flower petals that often tug at your skin and are only good for one use. They're also very durable -- I've used them for years and though they do get dirty, all you need is to give them a good wash and they're good as new.
Next, I highly recommend the Tweezerman tweezers. I used to think that any tweezer would do the job, but these tweezers have been a game changer and I absolutely cannot live without them. They are so sharp and precise, making it really easy to tweeze tiny or stubborn hairs. I like to maintain my eyebrows on my own, so having a good pair of tweezers is really important.
I think everyone should own a curling wand or iron because curling your hair makes such a huge difference on the way you look. Although I don't have a personal favorite, I highly recommend the Conair brand as a great affordable option.
Conair Instant Heat Curling Iron (I personally have this one!)
My last favorite is not technically from the drugstore, but it's at a drugstore price point so I wanted to mention it. This egg from Amazon is a must for cleaning your dirty makeup brushes. It basically does the same thing as those ridiculously priced brush mats from Sigma for a fraction of the cost. Plus, I find that I actually prefer this egg over a flat mat that you have to stick on your sink. I love that you can slip this on your finger for an easy grip, and I love how there are two different ridge patterns to help clean your brush. Best part: it's only a dollar!
